Over a 2-day period, learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations, including: assessing an emergency situation, dealing with an unresponsive infant or child, CPR, choking, meningitis, head and spinal injuries, anaphylaxis, asthma and more.

Understanding the role of a pediatric first aider.

Assessing incident scenes and casualties.

CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) for infants and children.

Choking treatment and managing unresponsive patients.

Anaphylaxis, asthma, meningitis, seizures/febrile convulsions, and diabetic emergencies.

Head, neck, back, eye, ear, and nose injuries.

Severe bleeding, burns, scalds, and shock.

Poisoning, electric shock, and extreme temperatures.
